NASDAQ – August 22, 2018: Hayver’s Founder/CEO Barry Hayut and Dr. John Copenhaver, M.D. Founder/Chief Medical Officer, sit down with IICO Host Jon Najarian to discuss their unique blockchain solution for addiction treatment. Hayver is also set to present their company at the upcoming London/Zurich Swiss Growth Forum, September 26th-28th, an exclusive conference for growth companies to receive greater exposure and quality investment opportunities.
According to Dr. Copenhaver, one of the only “proven methods of long-term success for those with addiction is to have an ongoing monitoring.”
Typically, monitoring is available to professionals who hold state licenses and have substance abuse problem. Based on licensed professionals monitoring programs 78% stay abstinent from substance abuse after 5 years versus less than 5% for non-monitored.
Hayver seeks to change this by making monitoring a standard of care through its innovative and affordable population management monitoring platform to help people overcome addiction based on three foundations:
- Psychological Deterrence
- Peer-to-Peer Accountability
- Psychological Incentives with Crypto-Rewards
Burden of Addiction
“Epidemic levels of addiction have been reached with opiates in the U.S.,” says Hayut. “21 million Americans are chronically ill with substance abuse with only around 10% receiving treatment.” Drug and alcohol misuse is the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50.
The direct and indirect costs of substance abuse are over 400 billion annually to the U.S. economy, not taking into account the emotional and psychological impact on patients and their loved ones.
Hayver is launching a cryptocurrency, the Duitcoin. The Duitcoin will be grounded in the shared values of the blockchain and recovery communities, including, decentralization, privacy, peer empowerment, and a commitment to making the world a better place for everyone. The Duitcoin will be used to incentivize and reward app users and others who engage in behaviors that promote addiction recovery. More than that, Hayver envisions that the Duitcoin will become the basis of a blended altruistic and commercial economy serving the special needs of addicted persons.
London/Zurich Swiss Growth Forum
Hayver is also set to present at SGF’s London/Zurich Forum September 26th-28th. The Forum offers growth companies the unique opportunity to gain exposure and potential investors from a pool of hand-selected participants including institutional fund managers, private asset managers, high net-worth individuals, and industry-related sponsors and foundations.
